Ford Mustang Icon Carroll Shelby Dead at 89 B3

Carroll Shelby was born in Leesburg, TX on January 11th, 1923. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he became an oil field worker and then a chicken farmer. It was during this transition Shelby was introduced to English MG roadsters. Carroll got the idea that placing V8 engines inside light-weight European-style roadsters. These special editions were named the Shelby Cobra.
